Nexium 24HR 20mg tablets provide frequent onset relief. Always read the label. Each 5 tablet, provide you taking once daily. Take one tablet at a time. Follow the label and instructions for use. Check expiration date to ensure once it has been swallowing and that it's stored in a flexible container. Nexium 24HR 20mg tablets provide rapid relief from frequent heartburn. Always use it within 6 hours. The extended-release version is for occasional, moderate to severe heartburn. Take for up to 4 days to manage symptoms. Do not skip. Follow instructions and timing. Do not stop using for any reason, including upset stomach, drowsiness, or diarrhea. Older adults may experience more frequent, more intense heartburn. Side Effects:Nexium 24HR 20mg tablets are generally well tolerated. More severe side effects are rare but can include muscle cramps, muscle aches, or back or muscle pain. If you notice any unusual symptoms such as confusion, hallucinations, persistent dry or painful breath, worsening of symptoms, longer-lasting symptoms, talk to your doctor before using this product, especially if you have asthma, allergies, if you take medications for high blood pressure, if you develop any neurological problems after you begin using proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), especially if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or have had a heart attack, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Esomeprazole is a loop, once-a-day, anti-acid that is taken as a 5-day course of treatment. If you miss your dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular treatment. Do not double dose. You should not have a double dose.
Contraindications:Nexium 24HR 20mg tablets are contraindicated in the following ways: for increased risk of blood clots; if allergic to esomeprazole; if heartburn is associated with increased magnesium or aluminum content in proton pump inhibitors; for symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Esomeprazole should not be used in the following cases: if you have had a stomach ulcer or other stomach disease for some time, or if you have an ulcer or bleeding disorder; if you are a woman, or have ever had an esophagus ulcer or other esophagus disorders, or if you are pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding; if you are taking any other known drug class, especially any types of histamine H1 or H2 blockers (including proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as esomeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, or omeprazole). If you experience any unusual symptoms, do not discontinue the product and contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Special Precautions:In some cases, especially in elderly patients, serious, possibly fatal, allergic reactions can occur. Rarely, but not always in every patient. Rarely, patients develop a severe allergic reaction. If you are caring for a serious allergic reaction to Nexium, or are allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Some patients can experience an allergic reaction. If you experience severe symptoms, you should contact a doctor or emergency medical unit. The risk of an allergic reaction is increased when using this product. Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:- stomach ulcers.- any form of bleeding disorder.- heart attack.- any type of infection such as heart attack, heart failure, dementia, nerve pain, blood, or nerve infection.- blood clot.- severe allergic reaction or unusual abnormality of the liver or kidney.- prolonged use of PPIs such as esomeprazole, lansoprazole, or pantoprazole.- stroke.- bleeding or allergy to food.
