Always use it within 6 hours. The extended-release version is for occasional, moderate to severe heartburn. Take for up to 4 days to manage symptoms. Do not skip. Follow instructions and timing. Do not stop using for any reason, including upset stomach, drowsiness, or diarrhea. Older adults may experience more frequent, more intense heartburn. Do not take for more than 3 days or if symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience new symptoms (such as pain or burning while taking the extended-release preparation), or if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing. Side Effects:Nexium 24HR 20mg tablets are generally well tolerated. More severe side effects are rare but can include muscle cramps, muscle aches, or back or muscle pain. If you notice any unusual symptoms such as confusion, hallucinations, persistent dry or painful breath, worsening of symptoms, longer-lasting symptoms, talk to your doctor before using this product, especially if you have asthma, allergies, if you take medications for high blood pressure, if you develop any neurological problems after you begin using proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), especially if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or have had a heart attack, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Esomeprazole is a loop, once-a-day, anti-acid that is taken as a 5-day course of treatment. If you miss your dose, take it as soon as you remember. Special Precautions:In some cases, especially in elderly patients, serious, possibly fatal, allergic reactions can occur. Rarely, but not always in every patient.
